Sick Rohingya people imprisoned in Bangladesh

Rohingya News Agency - (Burma Times): On 10th August, Ms. Zubaida Begum, aged 19, hailed from Fake Voniya with her father Mohammed Elias came in Bangladesh from Myanmar for treatment due to serious condition of heart disease. They were accommodated in a building owned by merchant Mr. Mustak situated at Tankhali Bazar.

When they were known that they came from Myanmar, two Bagaldeshis— Saeedu Rahman, s/o: Momtazur Rahman from Bali Khali, Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar and merchant Mostak from Tankhali Bazar— kidnapped her. They had gang-raped her continuously 3 days. And, the sexual offenders demanded her father 20,000( twenty thousand Taka)  for her release. They released the father of the raped victim when he told to set free him to bring money from Myanmar.

In fact, he went to Border Guard Bangladesh and disclosed the incident about his sick daughter and the BGB chief told him to prosecute against the sexual offenders going to police station.

When the father of the raped victim disclosed about the molestation of his daughter by two Bangladeshis, the police officers went to the place where the raped victim was kept. After taking a huge amount of money from the sexual offenders, in lieu of charging of molestation against them, they were freed.

Gradually, the plaintiff as well as rape victim Ms. Zubaida Begum, and her father were imprisoned by the police officers under false allegation in lieu of justice.

It is horrible that Rohingya people face such bizarre actions of Bangladeshi local and officials. However, the incidents do not come to light because Rohingya people dread to suit cases against the Bangladeshi offenders as the Rohingya plaintiffs have to face double charges in lieu of justice. The Bangladeshi authorities ignore to accept cases against the Bangladeshi offenders to save Bangladesh from bad reputation.
