3 Rohingyas held with fake passports

Rohingya News Agency- (Thedailystar): Armed Police Battalion (APBn) on Saturday detained five persons, including three Rohingyas, while bidding to fly abroad with fake identities, passports and visas through Shahjalal International Airport.
The detained Rohingya citizens are named as Ziaur Rahman, 23, Mohammad Aiyub, 29, and Mohammad Ali, 32, while the others are Zaved Hossain, 25, and Saiful Islam, 25.
According to APBn officials, the Rohingya citizens were arrested while they were passing through the departure terminal around 10:00am.
"After an interrogation, they admitted that they had managed fake passports and visas with the help of a broker named Jasim against Tk 1.5 lakh for each," said an APBn official.
They are the residents of a Rohingya camp at Cox's Bazar.
They were supposed to go to Saudi Arabia by a flight of the Qatar Airways, QR-345, the official said.
Besides, Bangladeshi citizen Zaved and Saiful were arrested around 11:30am when they were trying to go to South Africa by a flight of Jet Airways with fake passports and visas.
In recent times, over 300 Rohingya people were arrested while they were trying to go abroad with Bangladeshi passports.
The Saudi Arabian authorities last year arrested around 700 Rohingyas who had made their way into that country with Bangladeshi travel documents. The Saudi Arabia is now pressing Bangladesh to take them back, sources said.
Immigration and foreign ministry officials claimed that once abroad, many Rohingyas commit crimes tarnishing the image of Bangladesh.
