China-Myanmar relationship sees better future: Myanmar parliament speaker

Speaker of Myanmar's Union Parliament and House of Representatives (Lower House) U Shwe Mann said Wednesday that China and Myanmar would see a better relationship in the future.
Since independence, Myanmar has always been adopting a friendly foreign policy with all countries, said U Shwe Mann in an exclusive interview with Xinhua at Nay Pyi Taw's parliament building.
China and Myanmar have good relationship, U Shwe Mann said, adding China has always been respecting Myanmar's sovereignty and territorial integrity, never interfering in Myanmar's internal affairs and hoping Myanmar develop peacefully.
He believed that no matter which government takes office, China-Myanmar relationship will be bound to be better.
Talking about China-Myanmar economic and trade cooperative ties, U Shwe Mann said since China possessed capital and technology, he welcomed Chinese companies to make investment in Myanmar transparently.
U Shwe Mann spoke highly of China proposed "Belt and Road" initiative, hoping it could benefit the countries along the belt and road.
The initiative of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, is aimed at reviving the ancient trade routes that span Asia, Africa and Europe.
He briefed that the parliament has played an important role in democratic transition, saying that the parliament of the current term is to expire on Jan. 31, 2016 and efforts are being made to transit to the next term steadily.
