Three foreigners arrested in the refugee camp

Rohingya News Agency-(KPN): ‎Three foreign visitors were arrested from the Kutubalong  unregistered Rohingya refugee camp by the police of Ukhiya police station recently while visiting in the refugee camp, said a refugee from the camp who denied to mention his name.

"They entered the refugee camp without permission of the concerned authorities."

On being tipped off, a team of police went to the camp and arrested them at about 1:00 pm while they were interviewing from the refugees, according to official.

Police detained the three foreigners at Ukhiya police station after arrested for further investigation, official said.

Gias Uddin, the office-in-charge (OC) of Ukhiya police station said that the foreigners were detained and investigated regarding their visiting the camp.

Among the arrested, one is from Singapore another two are from New Zealand, according to police sources.

However, Bangladesh government imposed tight security along the Bangladesh-Burma border and mostly the Rohingya refugee camps at the moment.

The authority are keeping restriction on visiting Rohingya refugee camps by foreigner who are willing to help the refugees, said an aide from the border.
